From On High

Ex.9-11; Luke 24

TOPIC: Spirit-Filled

SCRIPTURE: "And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you, but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high." (Luke 24:49)

OBSERVATION: Our spiritual birth is just the beginning of our new relationship with God. After being born again, we need to grow spiritually. And our spiritual growth is dependent on the priceless fuel that God gives us to empower our spirit to follow Christ in every aspect of our behavior. Amazingly, this priceless fuel is the outworking of the third Person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit. Without His ministry to us and His presence within us, we would be powerless to become what God wants us to be, to live the way He wants us to live, to achieve what He wants us to achieve, and to influence others the way He wants us to influence them.

APPLICATION: Are you clothed with power?

Here is how you will know

The Holy Spirit will:

• Teach you all things
• Guide you into all truth
• Cause you to remember everything Jesus said
• Be your Helper
• Be your Comforter
• Convict you of sin
• Reveal future events to you
• Empower you with spiritual abilities
• Enable you to witness for Christ
