Keeping the Channels Open

Reading from Feb. 11, 09
Leviticus 13-14; Acts 17

TOPIC: Evangelism

SCRIPTURE: "When they heard Paul speak of the resurrection of a person who had been dead, some laughed, but others said, "We want to hear more about this later." (Acts 17:32)

OBSERVATION: Paul's regular practice was to preach in synagogues. He wisely began by talking about Old Testament writings and explaining how the Messiah fulfilled them, moving from the known to the unknown. This is a good strategy for us. When we witness for Christ, we should begin where people are, affirming the truth they do know, and then we can present Christ, the one who is truth. [Life Application Study Bible]

APPLICATION: Paul was attentive to his surroundings!
When you go about your daily routine
R U
paying attention?

He was complimentary!
R U
a bridge builder?

He was bold!
R U
bold in your witness for Jesus?

SO

in your recent conversations with the unchurched
(NOTE: You know what that implies, right?
It implies that you've had a conversation with an unchurched person)

SO
If you have

Have you had anyone say to you, what they said to Paul
"We want to hear more about this (Jesus) later"?

If so that is great news
Because they are keeping the channels open

SO

Be praying about your next encounter with them

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, help me to remember Paul's example as I go throughout my daily routine
