Quiet in there?

TOPIC: Child-likeness

SCRIPTURE: "Lord, my heart is not proud; my eyes are not haughty. I don't concern myself with matters too great or awesome for me. But I have stilled and quieted myself, just as a small child is quiet with its mother. Yes, like a small child is my soul within me." (Ps. 131:1-2)

OBSERVATION: The first thing that caught my attention was that the Psalmist made a choice to do and not do certain things.
My Life Application Study Bible had this to say about Psalm 131
"Pride results from overvaluing ourselves above others.
It leads to restlessness
because
it makes us dissatisfied with what we have
&
concerned about what everyone else is doing.
It keeps us always hungering for more. . .

By contrast,
humility
puts others 1st
&
allows us to be CONTENT
w/God's leading in our lives.

Such contentment gives us security
so that
we no longer have to prove ourselves 2 others.
Let humility
&
trust affect your perspective
&
give you the strength
&
freedom to serve God & others."

TRUST
or
BELIEVE
That GOD really is in control

IF you find yourself there
Confess it
Repent
Ask Him to fill you with
His Peace
&
His Quiet

Just like a child in his mother's arms

PRAYER: Father God, help me to rest in the fact that you are in control!!!
