Through You ~~~

TOPIC: Christ-likeness

SCRIPTURE: "And Jesus came up and touched the coffin; and the bearers came to a halt. And He said, Young man, I say to you, arise! The dead man sat up and began to speak. And Jesus gave him back to his mother. Fear gripped them all, and they began glorifying God, saying, 'A great prophet has arisen among us!' and, 'God has visited His people!' This report concerning Him went out all over Judea and in all the surrounding district. " (Luke 7:14-17)

OBSERVATION: My Life Application Study Bible says, "this story illustrates salvation. The whole world was dead in sin, just as the widow's son was dead. Being dead, we could do nothing to help ourselves - we couldn't even ask for help. But God had compassion on us, and he sent Jesus to raise us to life with him. The dead man did not earn his second chance at life, and we cannot earn our new life in Christ. But we can accept God's gift of life, praise God for it, and use our life to do his will."

APPLICATION: The part that really jumped out at me was the reaction of the crowd. Verse 16 says:

1.) Fear Gripped them ALL
2.) They began glorifying God saying 'God has visited us'
&
3.) This report of new life went out all over

Has it ever happened?

As a result of what you do,
do people respond to you
the way they did to Jesus?

Jesus has set things up in such a way

new life is going to come
it is going to be

SO

Is "new life" coming through you in the same way it came through Jesus?

The Holy Spirit is wanting
&
waiting for you
To allow Him
2 live the life of Jesus

PRAYER: Father God, help me to allow the Holy Spirit to bring new life every where I go, in the same ways and for the same reasons that you did!
