SCRIPTURE: "He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit, than he who captures a city." (Proverbs 16:32)
OBSERVATION: Those who are able to refrain, are the ones with the true strength.
APPLICATION: As I came across this verse, I felt like I was suppose to look up other verses with the same type of focus, and share them with you. I encourage, as you are reading, to ask the Holy Spirit to speak directly to your heart.
"People with good sense restrain their anger; they earn esteem by overlooking wrongs." (Proverbs 19:11)
"Those who control their anger have great understanding; those with a hasty temper will make mistakes." (Proverbs 14:29)
"Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Your anger can never make things right in God's sight." (James 1:19-20)
"A gentle answer turns away wrath, BUT harsh words stir up anger." (Proverbs 15:1)
"Don't be quick-tempered, for anger is the friend of fools." (Eccl.7:9)
"Those who are short-tempered do foolish things, and schemers are hated." (Proverbs 14:17)
