Speak Up

TOPIC: Testifying

SCRIPTURE: "Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the people. Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; Speak of all His wonders." (I Chron.16:8-9)

OBSERVATION: David expresses his thanksfullness to the Lord through this song. We see several key elements of true thanksgiving in this song, one in particular jumped out at me and that one deals with telling others about God's wonderful works.

APPLICATION: Sharing with others what God has and is doing in and through you is so very important. Rev.12:11 says, "And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony and they did not love their life even when faced with death."

We so quickly forget what God has done. We see that this problem has been around for along time. Ps.106:13 says, "They quickly forgot His works; Verses 21-22 go on to say, "They forgot God their Savior, Who had done great things in Egypt, Wonders in the land of Ham And awesome things by the Red Sea."

Take time to recount all of the wonderful things that our God has done. I strongly encourage you to actually sit down with a pen and paper and write out each and every thing that you can remember. Because like the children of Israel we to are prone to forget. There's a Chinese proverb that says, "The palest ink is sharper than the keenest memory." So, write it down, it will help you to remember better. That way, when the time comes, for you to share with others what God has done for you, it will be easier to recall each and every detail.

PRAYER: Father God, help me to take advantage of every opportunity you give me to share with others about you and your marvelous works.
