Passing It On ~

TOPIC: Preparing

SCRIPTURE: " Now behold, with great pains I have prepared for the house of the LORD..." (I Chron.22:14)

OBSERVATION: We see in this chapter, God telling David, that his son Solomon would be the one building His Temple. Instead of rebelling, David goes to great lengths to prepare for the next generation leader to lead. We see that David used all of his resources and authority to make ample preparations for Solomon to take over.

APPLICATION: As I read today the statements that David made really impacted me, he said, "With great pains I have made ample preparations for the house of the LORD before my death, and now, you (Solomon) may add to it."

Since we do not know the day of our death
We might ought take on and actually live out
The motto "Carpe Diem"
Which simply means = SEIZE (or Harvest) THE DAY

I read a great quote once that says,
"When opportunity comes
it is too late to prepare!"

So

R U preparing NOW?

If so how?

I once read in a leadership book this statement: "Learning to effectively hand off leadership to the next generation is vital to the longevity of any organization, especially the church."

Another quote that really impacted me, states,
"What I am to be,
I am right now becoming."

So

I have a question

Are you in the process RIGHT NOW
of passing the baton to your "Solomon"?

If so how?

If not, start now!

Because
you will NEVER change
UNTIL
you change something you do
DAILY

Take a Step

Every single day

Like a relay runner, learn to pass on the baton

David did it

&

So can you

2 Tim.2:5 says, "if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not win the prize unless he competes according to the rules."

We're not going to win the race

until
YOU

Pass it on~

PRAYER: Father God, help me, please help me, to learn to and actually pass on the baton to the "Solomon's" you bring into my life!
