SCRIPTURE:"May the LORD do what is good in His sight." (II Sam.10:12)
OBSERVATION: Joab was going into a battle against Ammon that at first appeared was going to be an up hill fight all the way. Joab challenged his men to "be strong and courageous" in the face of an army that had surrounded them.
APPLICATION: As I read over this passage the phrase that jumped out at me was Joab's statement, "and may the LORD do what is good in His sight." There must be a balance in our lives between our actions and our faith in God. Joab said, 'hey guys, lets fight with courage,' but he turns right around and basically says 'not our will but yours be done O LORD!'
He ultimately TRUSTED in God knowing that the outcome was in his hands.
Are you facing a challenge?
If so, I have a question for you:
Do you love God?
If so
Remember
Paul tells us that...
LOVE
ALWAYS
TRUSTS
(I Cor.13)
Remember that challenge your are facing
You are going to have to make a choice
Is God trustworthy or not?
PRAYER: Father God, thank you for your word. Thank you for reminding me that IF I love you that means that I trust you too. Help me to always make the choice to TRUST you.
