Don't Hold It In

TOPIC: Confession

SCRIPTURE: "When I keep silent about my sin, my body wasted away Through my groaning all day long. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer. I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I did not hide; I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD"; And You forgave the guilt of my sin." (Psalm 32:3-6)

OBSERVATION: The theme of this psalm written by King David reveals the joy that comes as a result of confession which lead to forgivness. True happiness and relief from the guilt of sin comes only as a result of asking God to forgive our sins.

APPLICATION: What is confession? To confess our sin is to agree with God, acknowledging that He is right to declare what we have done as sinful and that we are wrong to desire or to do it. It is to affirm our intention of forsaking that sin in order to follow him more faithfully.

So

Have you confessed ?

Have you confessed to the right person?

Have you confessed fully?

If so, isn't it wonderful to be free

Free from the

GUILT

Free from the

SHAME

IF NOT
Then start right now

Confess...Don't hold it in...It will only make things worse!!!

Imagine Being Free

It starts with Confession

So get to it

Right NOW!

PRAYER: Father God, please give me a super sensitivity to sin. Help me to keep short sin accounts. Help me to be completely honest with myself and ultimately with you. Help me also to be transparent with my accountability partners.
