SCRIPTURE: "for our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction; just as you know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake." (I Thess.1:5)
OBSERVATION: The Good News of Jesus Christ was preached to the Thessalonians through Paul, Silvanus and Timothy.
Their sharing was:
#1.) In word
#2.) In Power
#3.) In the Holy Spirit
&
#4.) With FULL Conviction
APPLICATION: The part that jumped out at me today as I read was the phrase "with full conviction."
Full = holding as much or as many as is possible; being at the highest degree or largest extent; affected by strong deep emotion; to the greatest or complete extent
Filled / Complete / Jam-packed / Chock-full/ Packed
Conviction = a belief or opinion that is held firmly
Assurance/ Certainty/ Sincerity/ Passion/ Fervor/ Confidence
What has God's power done in your life since you first believed?
Has your life truly changed on the inside?
Because if His power hasn't changed your life then if and when you share the good news with someone it will not be with FULL Conviction. You'll have a tendency to come across like a cheap car salesman that's only interested in trying to close the deal.
Does your life confirm or contradict what you say you believe?
Are you FULL of PASSION?
When I hear the word passion my mind goes straight to the movie Braveheart.
Would you place yourself in the same category as William Wallace?
"FREEDOM" = He was ABSOLUTELY committed to freedom
Are you just as committed to Jesus as William Wallace was to Freedom?
PRAYER: Father God, help me to live out the rest of my days as passionately as I possibly can for your honor and glory!!!
